The Cass Art Prize at the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead

 

Entries are now close. 12 very talented artists have been shortlisted and the winner will be announced at the Private View on Wed 26th.


Artists based in the UK are invited to produce an original artwork inspired by Hampstead Heath, NW3 - the home of our NEW Affordable Art Fair.

 

Photography, painting, printmaking, drawing and sculpture are all acceptable mediums. Submissions must be made by email to enquiries@affordableartfair.com with the subject title The Cass Art Prize - ENTRY– in the form of 3 good quality, high res j-pegs of the artwork (maximum file size of 2mb per image) – 1 of the artwork in full and 2 details, clearly labelled with the image details (artist name, title, size, medium and edition size if applicable) along with your full contact details.

 

This competition is for adults aged 18+ only.

 

Prizes


1st Prize: £1000 cash supported by AAF & Cass Art
2nd prize: £200 Derwent art materials

All shortlisted entries displayed at AAF Hampstead

Judges will include

• Ham & High Editor, Geoff Martin
• A representative of the City of London Corporation


 

Rules


1. Artists must not be represented by any gallery that exhibits at a UK Affordable Art Fair
2. Artists must not work for AAF or be related to any member of the AAF Team
3. Only 1 piece of work can be submitted per artist
4. Artwork must be original and produced especially for this competition
5. Entries must be received by 16 September 2011 at GMT 17:00. Any late entries will not be considered
6. Selected entries will be available for the general public to view online through Facebook
7. All shortlisted entrants will be notified by email by 6 October 2011. The shortlist will also be announced on Facebook, the AAF Website, and in the Ham & High.
8. Artworks submitted for the competition must be available for display at The Affordable Art Fair, Hampstead from 25-30 October, if successful
9. The shortlisted artists are responsible for transportation of their artwork (including any costs involved) to and from AAF Hampstead




10. The shortlisted artists must ensure their work is ready to hang ie. framed, mirror plated and / or strung
11. Work that is not supplied in a suitable condition (ready to hang) will not be exhibited

12. AAF reserves the right to refuse and remove any entry that is considered inappropriate
13. Prize winners will be announced at the AAF Hampstead Private View on 26 October
14. Cash alternative for art materials (2nd prize) is not available
15. All entries will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by AAF
16. Photographs of the winning pictures and names of  their artists may be used in the press and on the AAF Facebook and website
17. Winners agree to take part in any publicity about the competition free of charge
18. The judges decision as to the prize winners shall be final but in all other matters arising out of or in connection with the competition, the decision of AAF shall be final and legally binding
19. It is a condition of entry that the rules of the competition are accepted as final, and that the competitors agree to abide by the rules
20. No correspondence will be entered into
21. No entrant may win more than one prize
